The program uses a database (usually in XLS or MDB format) to drive the correct loading of the footprints. The database can be created using various databases. The XLS/MDB formats offer an excellent compromise, thanks to the relatively low cost of Microsoft Excel and Access, their friendly interface and data portability. The operations performed by the program on the database are basically of reading and no special performance in terms of speed is required. The XLS/MDB formats being "portable" provide the opportunity to use the software even during trips to areas where you cannot connect to the corporate network.
